XAP is a ready to use single application liquid which kills 99.99999% of germs and leaves a long lasting  colourless, odourless protective coating which continues to physically attack and destroy the microbe cell walls thus inhibiting further growth

XAP Barbed Wire Defence

When applied to a surface, the blend of biocides works synergistically to rapidly kill the resident microbial population. An anti-microbial barbed wire type protective coating then bonds invisibly to the surface, be it solid or fabric.

The XAP Trap

The Bacterial cell is negatively (-) charged. The antimicrobial molecule is positively (+) charged. The bacteria are statically drawn onto the XAP barbed wire surface coating.

XAP contains no alcohol and unlike disinfectants will not cause microbes to build up any resistance to being destroyed and mutate becoming superbugs. It is non-toxic and safe to use anywhere near children, adults and pets to clean and protect all soft and non-porous hard surfaces. All active ingredients are registered with the European Chemicals Agency. Our active ingredient is registered with ECHA (European Chemicals Agency) for use on almost all surfaces from porous absorbent materials to hard non-porous surfaces.)

The XAP Kill

When applied to a surface by spraying, or ‘fogging’; our solution leaves behind a mono-molecular layer that permanently bonds to the surface. These molecules are antiviral and antimicrobial, and form a covalent bond on the hard surface or on the textile producing a barbwire of positively charged microscopic spikes.

The positively charged microscopic spikes attract negatively charged microbes and viruses. The spikes puncture the cell walls of the microbes and viruses, killing them mechanically. This layer of antimicrobial spikes remain on the surfaces and carry on killing all dangerous bugs for an extended period of time. Normal hygienic cleaning of surfaces and texiles can continue as normal and does not wash away the antimicrobial’s activity.

XAP, when dried on to a surface, forms an invisible protective coating  which can give a long-term residual biocidal efficacy as tested under laboratory conditions. As far as we are aware, this is an absolutely unique trait in the global disinfection market.

Xelex Antimicrobial Plus XAP is only available as a  ready to use liquid. All our products carrying the ‘Plus’ suffix, provide long term residual surface biocidal efficacy.

XAP SCIENCE

There are two main fundamental types of anti- microbial agent, ‘unbound’ anti-microbials  and ‘bound’ anti-microbials. We offer the only products to contain both these agents where the efficacy has been verified. This water-based technology forms an invisible protective permeable mono layer delivering a unique anti-microbial barrier that kills viruses and bacteria on contact and offers long-term protection. (tested in Laboratory conditions  against MRSA and Legionella). The technology acts as a magnet-type force to attract and draw the virus and bacteria onto it. When the virus or bacterium  come in to contact with the XAP coating, the cell walls are ruptured killing the micro-organism. The technology developed attracts and kills viruses and bacteria in a way that is described as a physical kill by rupturing the cell wall. This offers commercial potential to protect everyday surfaces, materials and fabrics, and our products have never been shown to allow or cause microbial adaptation, resistance, mutation or migration. This advanced innovative  technology  comes  in the form of an easy to use liquid and leaves a coating on the surface. The coating has been rigorously tested in British laboratories and has been shown to destroy up to 99.999999% of bacteria, mould, fungi and virus including spore- forming organisms such as C.difficile.

How to Apply Xelex Antimicrobial Plus

The application of XAP can be done by a professional registered Xelex approved installer, or we can train your own staff on how to apply it. 

There are two installation options:

Hand Application

Spray it on to surface areas using a spray bottle with a misting trigger, leave to dry, and wipe off any excess residue, avoiding any over wetting.

Cold Fogging (Recommended)

Mist the Antimicrobial at a setting of 15-20 microns over any surface and leave to dry. Wipe off any over wet residue.

XAP is permanent unless removed by abrasion. As would be expected, there are a number of factors that determine how long the product will remain effective on different surfaces and in different situations. The product can be applied by your own cleaning team, or alternatively through our service partners as shown in the videos above and below.
